SACRAMENTALIZING OUR LAND

In ancient times, native peoples held the land they lived in with reverence. It was the land that was the source of life not only for them, but also, for all the plants and animals living there. We in the Lycian Tradition have felt the need to return to this practice of recognizing the sacred in the land and so we have named the features of the landscape around us in accordance with our religious beliefs.

The quadrants, elements, and Wheel of the Year have all been represented in their proper compass direction. If you wish to see a map of our Sacred Land (South Central Texas) with explanations available for the features on it and links to information about recreational facilities at them, click here.

If you would like to see directions for constructing a sacred map, according to Wiccan legends, with sites for actual physical worship click here.
